Arkansas
Arkansas is a mountainous state stuck between the Midwest and the South. Bluegrass music has thrived here over the years, and you can find some lively country dancing. The Ozarks are beautiful, and there are opportunities for many different activities. You can do some great fishing and varied watersports, or explore some caves. For a simple, high-quality trip, just pitch a tent or rent a cabin in the Ozark National Forest, hike, and breathe fresh air. There are also spas you can go for some pampering in Hot Springs, Little Rock, and Eureka Springs.
In the news today, there is an actual raw restaurant in Arkansas. There’s also a gastropub! These findings are something in the land of ribs and Tyson chicken. You can also get light fare like smoothies and wraps, load up on veggies at diners, or order from an organic brunch menu including tofu scrambles. There is vegetarian Indian food and celiac-friendly dim sum, and considering the growing Asian population in the state they might be somewhat authentic. Arkansas is getting closer to living up to its name, The Natural State.
