About El Paso
Known as El Paso del Norte, which means “The Pass of the North,” El Paso is a border town located in west Texas right over the Mexican border from Juarez. El Paso is conveniently positioned halfway between Austin, TX and Phoenix, AZ, making it a great stopping point for people traveling across the U.S.
Despite its mountain and desert views and the plethora of outdoor activities that are awaiting residents and travelers in Sun City, many people view El Paso as a pass-through city. That’s a shame because El Paso is a destination worth visiting on its own. Even if you’re not interested in breathtaking views and hiking or biking isn’t your thing, El Paso is still worth a visit for its food alone.
El Paso Restaurants
Given its enviable position along the border, it’s only natural that many El Paso restaurants showcase food that blends flavors from Mexico and the United States seamlessly. While street tacos and breakfast burritos are readily available throughout Sun City, Tex-Mex isn’t the only type of fare you can enjoy when you visit El Paso. Rustic Italian, barbecue, Lebanese food, Mediterranean fare, Spanish and Moroccan tapas – you can find all that and a whole lot more as you explore El Paso.
El Paso Organic Restaurants
As you make your way through Sun City, it won’t take you long to notice that El Paso organic restaurants are as diverse as the city’s residential and tourist population. Like you can dine in a wide variety of non-organic eateries in El Paso del Norte, you’ll have just as many cuisines to choose from among the city’s organic restaurants.
If you don’t already eat organic exclusively, you may want to make the switch. At a minimum, you should seek out area organic eateries as often as you can. Study after study shows that organic food is healthier for you. Organic plants aren’t treated with any herbicides or pesticides that may eventually make their way onto your plate. Organically grown animals aren’t given antibiotics, growth hormones or animal by-products which can end up in your body.
In addition to being better for you, organic ingredients are better for the environment as a function of the way they’re produced and processed. Organic food is healthier for farmers to raise because no chemicals or GMOs are used.
While some people think that eating organic will require them to limit their food intake to salads, that’s simply not the case. The organic food served in El Paso includes all types of food, including fish, steak, pork, chicken and more. It’s the variety that organic food encompasses that allows so many kinds of organic restaurants to thrive in El Paso and many other locations throughout the world.
