Central African Republic
The Central African Republic has been independent for a little over 60 years now. It was once run by the French, and French and Sango are official languages. Visit the Dzanga-Sangha National Park for great wildlife. This area features gorillas, elephants, and the Baka people who live near the Sangha River. If you love waterfalls, come during the rainy season to witness the Chutes de Boali, which have greater height and volume than Niagara Falls at their best moments.
The Central African Republic produces millet, sorgum, okra, yellow onion, garlic, spinach, rice, palm oil, and yams. Centrafricans also eat a lot of sweet potatoes, tomatoes, chiles, and peanuts. Fish, chicken, and goat are common meats, and insects like crickets and termites are also consumed. Try makara fried bread, palm butter soup, or fulani boullie porridge, composed of rice, peanut butter, millet flour, and lemon.
