Georgia
Georgia is a Western Asian country which has introduced significant, effective reforms in the past ten years. Its location on the Silk Road and the Black Sea has made it a prime place for international trade throughout the years. Agriculture and tourism are mainstays of the modern economy. The name of Georgia may have actually come from the Greek term for tiller of the earth; agriculturalist. For interesting sites, see the Stalin Museum in Gori or go to Kolkheti National Park, especially if you’re a birder or you have an unusual interest in frogs.
Tea and wine are important products, as are corn and wheat. Cilantro, walnuts, and plums appear in many dishes. Tkemali sauce contains sour fruits, pennyroyal, dill, and other flavors. Try khachapuri, a bread filled with cheese, and numerous combinations of other ingredients like eggs and potatoes. Chanakhi is a lamb stew with lamb stew with tomatoes, eggplant, potatoes, greens, and garlic. Save space for something sweet like a piece of pakhlava or pelamushi, a grape juice and corn meal jelly!
