Liechtenstein

Liechtenstein is a small, German-speaking country in Central Europe. However, this principality is not an EU member nation. The literacy rate is 100% and prosperity is high. Liechtenstein’s GDP is one of the highest in the world and unemployment is almost non-existent. The financial sector is very important. Two major distinctions are being the world’s largest producer of sausage casings and also of false teeth. There are many fields and mountains. The Kunstmuseum Liechtenstein is the largest museum, and there is also a stamp museum and a ski museum. Vaduz Castle, on a hill above the capital, is worth hiking up to walk around and look at vistas, even though it’s not open to the public.

Breads, muesli, and ribel (like corn) are popular grain products in Liechtenstein. Common vegetables include greens, potatoes, asparagus, and cabbage. People eat a lot of beef, chicken, and pork. Omnivores can enjoy hafalaab, a soup with ham or bacon and cornmeal dumplings. R├Âsti is a potato cake that can be made with numerous additions. Help support a 2,000-year-old tradition by drinking some Liechtensteiner wine, which is said to have an appealing sweetness.
